COCHLEA DELLA CONSAPEVOLEZZA - vase for flowers

This handcrafted vase, inspired by snails' life cycle, combines the beauty of natural materials with modern design. Made from borosilicate glass, it features a unique base crafted from fragments of Italian rock that were dried naturally in the open air. The vase consists of three pieces to assemble without a permanent connection, which is a distinctive characteristic of COKI's designs and follows a conscious life-cycle approach.

The Cochleae vases collection is inspired by snails' life cycles. The design captures their growth, with the curved glass representing the invertebrate's body and the semicircular stone components symbolizing the embracing shell.

The stone, a testament to our commitment to sustainability, is meticulously handcrafted from fragments of natural Italian rocks sourced from Tuscany and Veneto. This innovative material, inspired by ancient Roman techniques, is truly one-of-a-kind as it does not contain glue or cement. It is dried naturally in the open air, under the sun, to ensure ever greater environmental sustainability.

The surface of the handcrafted stone piece is treated with an ecological substance developed by COKI.

The glass and stone components are not glued and can be separate, disassembled, and ready for new uses.

GLASS CLEANING AND CARE

Clean the bottom inside of the vase simply filling it with wine vinegar and letting it sit for a whole day. Then pour the vinegar into a closed glass or plastic bottle and save it for the next use (do not throw the vinegar in the toilet or sink, it damages aquatic organisms). Rinse the jar with water and dry with a soft cloth.

STONE CLEANING AND CARE

• Do not wash, do not wet

• Clean the surface with vacuum cleaner only

• The stone's color becomes brighter and clearer within 2-3 months due to the natural absorption process of the surface treatment, which is based on ancient techniques of the artisan tradition.
